On The Edge
3D Game-play Programming | Animation Systems | Audio Design
Start Date: 2024
End Date: Completed (Playable Build)
On The Edge is a 3D third-person obstacle course game inspired by Fall Guys, developed solo over one week. This project marked my first dive into 3D game development, where I tackled player locomotion, input systems, obstacle mechanics, shaders, and spatial audio — creating a chaotic and fun platformer experience set in a vibrant, moving world.

Core Systems & Architecture
Built the 3D player controller with responsive locomotion, jump mechanics, and input handling
Scripted core Fall Guys-style obstacles: wind turbines, jump pads, moving platforms, and dynamic hazards
Integrated game timers, checkpoint logic, and shader-based effects to enhance game-play and visual polish

Animation & Audio
Developed the animation system, blending movement and actions into smooth 3D character locomotion
Designed and implemented spatial audio systems, including speaker poles that play creepy, custom-made music (created by me using Adobe Audition)
Used spatial positioning to increase immersion and build atmosphere within the chaotic obstacle zones

Development Highlights & Challenges
My first-ever 3D game project, where I learned the complexities of working in 3D space, from player control to camera behavior
Used third-party assets effectively to focus on coding, mechanics, and systems design
Recognized the need for further LOD work and optimization — valuable lessons that shaped how I approach 3D projects today

Level Design & World Building
Planned and built multiple navigable routes with escalating challenges, giving players freedom to choose their preferred level of risk
Focused on layout flow and obstacle placement to create engaging, balanced player experiences
